Water supply in Ghana faces challenges, including issues with infrastructure, distribution, and access, particularly in some urban and rural areas. Ghana has been working on initiatives to improve water supply and sanitation, with projects aimed at increasing access to clean water sources.For the last three weeks, residents of Abeka, Lapaz, and the nearby areas have been struggling with inconsistent water supply through their taps.




Mame Vicky a hairdresser at Lapaz ecobank for 4years complained for her the situation is intolerable and the government need to work on the issue as soon as possible «it is very frustrating , we can not work in such situation the water is coming only around 1am we are tired of this .why ? Are we not paying our bills ? We need answers! »

Mr John Kweku a.k.a John 2.0 resident of Abeka freepipe and card seller   According to him the situation is just getting worser « we are paying one cedis per bucket so  calculate how much we are paying for a family of 5 ! Even sometime we struggle to get the water so we have to go for pure water. »

Madame Dansobea shop attendant living at teasano apenkwa express her feelings nearly in tears « we have to go at far places to get water we are all worried .. when are we going to get  water ? Sometimes I don’t take my bath I go to work like that » 

Commercial activities industries that rely on water,  may face disruptions. Reduced water availability can  impacts economic stability and livelihoods. 

As they said «water is source of life »access to water is fundamental to various aspects of daily life.

According to a woman in her sixties confessed to being in distress because she has no one to fetch water for her, as all her children are abroad .« I’ve to pay abranti3 to fetch water, due to my age I can’t go and do that myself I’ve to manage the water cos they are not coming to my place everyday . My money is finishing because of this water issue »
