The  Kundum festival in Ghana! It's a vibrant and colorful celebration that takes place in the Western region of Ghana. It's a time when the local communities come together to give thanks for the harvest and honor their ancestors. The festival is celebrated by the Ahanta and Nzema people and features traditional music, dance, drumming, and lots of delicious food.

Throughout the festival, households showcase their culinary prowess by preparing a variety of dishes, predominantly featuring corn and cassava. The air is filled with the delightful scents of these delectable creations, adding a flavorful touch to the festivities.

Kundum is not just a festival; it’s a reflection of community spirit. It brings together people of all ages, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared joy. Elders share stories, dancers express their passion, and everyone contributes to the vibrant tapestry of this annual celebration.
In essence, Kundum Festival is a dynamic blend of culinary delights, cultural significance, rhythmic expressions, and community unity, making it a cherished and eagerly anticipated event each September.For miss rose a nzema lady, « it’s not only a celebration time but also a period  that provides an opportunity for reconciliation with our loved ones with whom we may have differences.»

Anecdotes :According to oral history and folklore, the 
Origin  Story of Kundum Festival can be traced back to a chance encounter during a hunter's expedition. Akpoley, the hunter, stumbled upon a circle of dwarves engaged in a captivating dance. Intrigued and inspired by the spectacle, Akpoley carried this newfound dance form back to his town, introducing it to his people.
According to the lore, this hunter's serendipitous discovery became the seed from which the Kundum.

A Discussion with Adjetey Anang

In order to provide an intimate look behind the scenes , Pusher or Adjetey anang a Ghanaian actor revealed in his book called« faith , imperfection and resilienc e »the journey of an extraordinary man. https://www.amazon.com/Adjetey-Anang-Faith-Imperfection-Resilience-ebook/dp/B0CBLX2TSR  Mr Pusher was the guest at  Aidoo centre inside AUCC on the 28th of February 2024.During  the meeting with him, we were able to discuss with a man full of humility ,altruism and love  his main goal writing this book was to «impact young people with my experience» he said . Indeed Mr pusher has a valid concern about this new generation as he’s the voice of the voiceless!  Ursula Abanga  Alberta Mortty  Akorfa Dawson  Benjamin Cyril Arthur  Theses are some authors of the collection of  book called Afajato  ,the stories from around the Volta lake. Each author brought up their own perspective and experience from fantastic to common and from childhood experiences to traumatizing situations.  While according to Alberta, her story is drawn from her own childhood, for Ursula, her story is entirely concocted from her own imagination and her roommate , unlike Akorfa wrote an almost incomplete story but complete for herself  as she allows the reader to finish the story according to their own imagination. When asked about the writing process of their stories, they unanimously responded that it was difficult because none of them spoke Ewe.
